The late Professor Michael Hattaway’s bequest of books to colleagues in the University of Iasi, Romania, typified both his generosity and his strong bonds with Shakespeareans in Europe. This free online event celebrates Professor Hattaway’s legacy of friendship and of books: those he wrote and those he gave to the English Department in Iasi. Staff and students from Iasi will talk about how items in ‘The Professor Michael Hattaway Collection’ will help their research and teaching. Colleagues from the British Shakespeare Association, which funded the transport of the books to Romania, will celebrate Professor Hattaway’s academic legacy by discussing a selection of the many books wrote, edited and published.
