‘Types of Titus’: Titus Andronicus and Social Justice
Date/Time: 21 March 2023 -5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
The BSA is delighted to host this online roundtable.
This roundtable will examine Titus Andronicus as a play historically implicated in the nexus between racial discrimination, sexual violence and political division. With a particular emphasis on the 2023 production held at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, the roundtable will feature a series of short provocations upon Titus in the context of social justice from scholars and practitioners, followed by a panel discussion and an opportunity for audience interventions. This online roundtable forms part of the project ‘Types of Titus’, generously funded by the Universities of Geneva and Exeter.
Organisers: Pascale Aebischer (University of Exeter) and Emily Louisa Smith (Université de Genève).
